Not all banks detail dishonour transactions in the bank statements, example ANZ bank. This makes it impossible to process dishonoured transactions through the bank statement upload.
ANZ bank have a separate file called a “return items” file that contains a list of all dishonoured transactions. This file will be imported separately in order to process the dishonoured transactions.
The uploading, matching and posting of the dishonour return items files will operate and function the same way that bank statement files are uploaded, matched and posted.
Process Step 1 – Upload dishonour files:
1. The dishonour files are uploaded, the same way bank statements are uploaded. Navigate to Banking > Bank Statements > Upload Dishonour File
Process Step 2 – Import dishonour files
1. Once the file has been located and uploaded, it need to be imported.
Navigate to Banking > Bank Statements > Dishonour
Uploads.

2. When you click the menu
item, you will be presented with a list of all dishonour files that have been uploaded.
Allocated - "Full" - if all items in the files have been allocated to accounts. "Partial" if some of the items in the file have been allocated to accounts.
Posted - if all items in the files have been posted to accounts. "Partial" if some of the items in the file have been posted to accounts.
3. Clicking on a file will open the file details allowing you to Import the uploaded file from the function’s menu.
4. Once Imported the details will appear under the “File” tab at the bottom of the page and the actual file will appear under the "Documents" tab.
When a dishonour file is imported, manually, if the “automatically match dishonoured Files” on the bank configuration is set to true, the auto matching will take place automatically. The same as if the user clicked the “auto match” menu item from within a dishonour file. A check must also be done when the user tries to auto match manually, that matching is not already in progress, so as to avoid deadlocks and duplicates.
You are able to download and view the uploaded file by clicking the “download ” link under the "Documents" tab..
Process Step 3 – Matching and posting dishonour transactions
1. Clicking on the item in the file tab will open a page to display the specific details on the items in the file. From here you will be able to allocate and post the dishonour transactions.
All transactions that have been matched and allocated to accounts, will be moved from the “Unallocated” tab into the “Allocated but not posted” tab.
All transactions that have been posted to accounts, will be moved to the “Posted” tab.
2. Auto Match - All the items in the file can be auto matched to accounts. Using the menu items under the actions / hamburger menu, the items in the file can be matched to accounts.
Auto match will match the “reference” number in the file to the reference number in Fusion. .
DD transactions that dishonoured “Credit” can only be allocated / matched to
- Finance agreements.
DC transactions that dishonoured “Debit” can be allocated to
- Suspense Accounts - A DC for a finance agreement payout cannot be allocated to a finance agreement as it will reduce the balance to zero. The money must be allocated to a suspense account and resolved from there. The same goes for DC transactions for interbranch transfers from fund account bank account to asset class bank account.
- Fund Accounts - Withdrawals from investor fund account
- Control Accounts - Payments from control accounts
3. Post - All the allocated items will be posted to the accounts. Once this is done the transactions will appear against the account. These are dishonour transactions so a revaluation of the account will take place to deal with back dated transactions.
4. Manual Match - Selecting a specific item in the file from the “unallocated” list, you will be able to able to manually match to an account.
